Pre-Booking Questions
GOOD QUESTIONS. CLEAR ANSWERS.
Everything you need to know before booking your wedding at The Great Hall at Mistwood in Romeoville, Illinois.
01 Do I have to schedule a tour or can I just stop by?
A Personal Tour
We require an appointment so one of our sales managers can dedicate time specifically to you. During your visit, we'll walk you through the venue, discuss the amenities we offer, and answer your questions so you can decide whether Mistwood is the right fit for your day.
02 How many guests does the space hold?
Room to Celebrate
The Great Hall accommodates up to 225 guests with a full-size dance floor. We never place guest tables on the dance floor, so there's dedicated space for everyone to celebrate once the music starts.
03 Can we bring in our own catering and sweets?
Food & Desserts
Mistwood Golf Club operates its own scratch kitchen and provides all food and beverages. You're welcome to bring a wedding cake or sweets table from a licensed bakery or store. Homemade desserts are not permitted for liability reasons.
04 Can we bring in outside alcohol?
Bar Service
Outside alcohol is not permitted. Mistwood provides all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for your event, allowing our team to manage beverage service throughout your celebration.
05 Do we have to use your vendors?
Your Vendor Team
No. You're welcome to work with any outside licensed vendors you choose. We also provide a recommended vendor list to make planning easier. These are companies our team knows and highly recommends.
06 Do you provide a day-of coordinator?
Support Along the Way
We don't provide a dedicated day-of wedding coordinator. You'll be assigned an experienced sales manager to guide you through the venue planning process, and our operations team takes over on your wedding day to execute the event. For more hands-on personal coordination, we recommend hiring a day-of coordinator.
07 Do you offer indoor and outdoor ceremonies?
Ceremony Options
Yes. Our courtyard offers a beautiful outdoor setting for wedding ceremonies. Because Midwest weather can be unpredictable, we also have an indoor ceremony location available as a backup.
08 What if the weather isn't favorable on our wedding day?
A Plan for the Weather
You'll have until noon on your wedding day to decide whether your ceremony needs to move indoors. If it does, our team will prepare the Great Hall for your indoor ceremony so your celebration can continue.
09 Is there a rental fee or minimum guest count?
Pricing & Minimums
We don't charge a room rental fee. Instead, your booking includes a food and beverage spending minimum, calculated before service fees and taxes. There's no minimum guest count, and the Great Hall can accommodate up to 225 guests.
10 Is there a getting-ready space for the wedding party?
Getting Ready
You'll have access to the bridal suite beginning at 2:45 PM on your wedding day. Additional time or all-day access can be arranged for an additional fee.
11 Will other events be happening at the same time?
Your Day, Your Space
When your wedding takes place in the Great Hall with the Terrace Room, you'll have our full attention. Yours will be the only event taking place.
12 What do I need to secure our wedding date?
Reserving Your Date
Contact one of our sales managers to confirm availability for your preferred wedding date. They'll guide you through the next steps and begin the contract process to secure your celebration.
13 Do we get to do a tasting?
Toast to Your Tasting
All booked couples are invited to our twice-yearly tasting event, Toast to Your Tasting. These events are generally held in January and July, giving you an opportunity to experience our culinary offerings before your wedding.
14 Is parking available and included?
Easy Arrival
Yes. Complimentary parking is available in our on-site parking lot, so your guests won't need to worry about additional parking fees.
15 Is there a coat check?
Coat Check
Yes. We offer complimentary coat check service seasonally, helping guests settle in comfortably when the weather calls for an extra layer.
16 Who handles setup and teardown of the décor?
Décor Details
We ask that your day-of coordinator, family, or friends handle the setup of personal décor items. Those items must also be removed at the end of your event. We provide a complimentary one-hour window for teardown.
17 Can we take pictures on the golf course?
Picture-Perfect Locations
Yes. You're welcome to take wedding photographs on the property. We ask that you remain on the cobblestone path and don't go beyond the bridge. There are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities close to the clubhouse.
18 Do you require event insurance?
Insurance Details
We don't require event insurance for your wedding. However, your sales manager may request proof of insurance or a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for certain outside vendors you hire.
Wedding & Event Reviews at Mistwood
WHAT THEY SAY
Just got married here on 7/11/2026 and Mistwood was the perfect space for our special day. They were easy to work with, executed our vision, and we got so many compliments on how pretty the space was and how good the food was! Would recommend. Audra made our day perfect!
As a central Illinois wedding photographer, I can confidently say that Mistwood is one of my favorite venues for capturing weddings. The potential for stunning portraits on its beautiful grounds is simply unparalleled. Every gallery from weddings I've photographed there turns out absolutely breathtaking.
I highly recommend couples consider Mistwood for their special day.
I have helped plan and hosted several events at Mistwood Golf Club for my work. The staff team at Mistwood is incredible every time. Taylor is so easy to work with, very professional, accommodating, and such a delight. The food is always great, the onsite staff for the events are always professional and attentive. We are excited to host our dinner there next year! Can't recommend them enough.
Mistwood Golf Club has become one of my favorite places for celebrations, both professionally and personally. I've planned & coordinated weddings there and even selected it for my own events because I know every occasion will be handled with incredible attention and hospitality. The culinary experience never disappoints, and the property offers a polished, inviting atmosphere from start to finish. It's a location I recommend with complete confidence to anyone searching for an unforgettable event experience.
I had my wedding at Mistwood in May 2025 and am so happy we went with there for our wedding venue. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Taylor. She is the best! She is so kind, helpful & quick to respond to all questions. Our rehearsal dinner and wedding overall went smoothly. There were a couple issues that I had spoke to Taylor about after the wedding and were handled appropriately. I would recommend Mistwood Golf Club to anyone getting married.
Our daughter had her wedding ceremony and reception here July of 2025 and it was spectacular. Our guests felt we spared no expense, but the cost was very reasonable and a great value to comparable venues. We added the draping with lights which added to the romantic ambiance. The food was amazing (the salmon was some of the best we have had anywhere) and they worked with us to specialize our package. Their tasting ahead of time allows you to sample everything on the wedding menu. Audra and Taylor and team are incredible! Highly recommend this venue.
As a wedding photographer, I may be slightly obsessed with this country club… and honestly, I’m pretty sure the staff is obsessed with me too (I’m there so often they know me by name and treat me like family!). Between the rolling hills, charming stone bridges, and swoon-worthy arched doorways, every corner is basically begging to be in a photo. And the bar? Cozy, moody, and straight-up Scottish—perfect for capturing those “I’m fancy but also relaxed” cocktail moments.
The outdoor spaces are endless for portraits, first looks, or just me sneaking a few creative shots while no one’s looking. And if Mother Nature decides to rain on our parade, the covered areas are equally stunning—no stress, just more photo ops.
Basically, if you’re looking for a venue that’s ridiculously photogenic, full of charm, and will make you feel like part of the family (bonus: me included), this country club is a total win. Your photos—and your photographer—will thank you.
This review is long overdue so where do I begin...
I got married here on September 21, 2024 and planned this wedding in 6 months. We attended a wedding here as guests and enjoyed ourselves so much that we looked here for our own wedding. Although wedding planning in that short of a timeframe was stressful, Taylor did not contribute to it. She helped this process so much and it was so helpful that Mistwood included so much in their venue. I loved how beautiful the grounds were so we didn't need to go somewhere else for pictures. The garden for the ceremony was so beautiful that we didn't need to add any decor out there and it was so gorgeous in the photos.
We had 122 guests and Taylor helped me design a layout that made you feel like the grand ballroom was always made to fit that amount of people. The food was amazing and people still rave about how they've never been to a wedding where the steak was so good. I'm gluten and dairy free and chef Ben made sure that my food tasted exquisite.
I'd recommend this venue over and over again. I even have a family friend getting married there thanks to my referral in November 2025! We visited the restaurant onsite for our 1 year anniversary and it was so special to walk the grounds again and reminisce on a perfect day.
Great Hall - Great place, very accommodating, great attention to detail, staff is amazing, hats off to the chef, thank you again!
Such a beautiful venue for wedding service and reception afterwards. Had an A- top notch experience! Servers were professionals all the way!! Highly recommend!
Mistwood did an amazing job hosting my 2 event workshop. The communication and follow through was spot on. My guests enjoyed the quality food, atmosphere, amazing staff, and technology. I will be scheduling my next event soon.
